Meet the Team: Mekenzi Mason
At 4site Consulting, a lot of the work that keeps projects moving happens behind the scenes. From coordinating information and supporting assessors to keeping processes organised, strong operational support helps make sure our teams have what they need to deliver a consistent service to clients.
In this 4site spotlight, we introduce Mekenzi Mason, Ops Admin Support at 4site Consulting. Working across both Operations and Building Safety, Mekenzi supports a wide range of day-to-day activity, from managing documents and coordinating reports to helping assessors access the information they need and keeping priorities on track.
With a varied background spanning events, business ownership and facilities management, Mekenzi brings plenty of organisation, adaptability and people skills to her role. In this article, she shares more about what goes on behind the scenes at 4site, what she has learned since joining the team and why she enjoys being part of a workplace where everyone is willing to lend a hand.
What does a typical day look like for you?
No two days are the same in my role, which is something I really enjoy. I support both the Operations Manager (Alain) and the BSC Manager (Charlotte), so I work across a variety of tasks each day.
I usually start by checking in on the assessors to make sure work is up to date and processes are being followed. I also manage new documents as they come in, ensuring they reach the right people/ places.
Throughout the day, I help with a range of tasks, from putting together PowerPoint presentations and coordinating reports to providing assessors with the data and information they need. I enjoy being the person who helps keep everything organised and things running smoothly.
What did you do before you worked at 4site?
I've had quite a varied career journey! I started out working in the corporate events industry in London, which was a fast-paced environment and gave me great experience in organisation, planning, and working with a wide range of people.
I then moved on to running my own salon while also raising my son, which was a completely different experience but taught me so much about managing a business, building relationships with clients, and being adaptable.
After that, I moved into facilities management, working with similar types of clients to 4site but with more of a focus on remedial works. Each chapter of my career has brought something different, and I think the mix of experiences has really helped shape the way I approach things today.
What's one thing people might be surprised to learn about your job?
I think people are often surprised by how varied the role is. Every day is different, and it's much more than just admin. I'm constantly working with different teams, coordinating tasks, solving problems, and making sure the right people have the information they need. A lot of the work happens behind the scenes, but it plays an important part in keeping everything running smoothly.
What questions do clients ask you most often?
The questions I get asked most often are usually around updates, progress, and next steps. My role is often about making sure the right information gets to the right people and helping keep communication flowing so clients and teams know where things are up to.
What advice would you give to property managers trying to stay compliant?
My advice would be to stay organised, keep communication open, and don’t leave things until the last minute. Staying on top of documents, processes, and updates makes a big difference. If there’s ever any uncertainty, ask questions early and make sure you have the right information from the right people.
What changes have you seen in the industry during your career?
I think the biggest change I’ve seen is how much more focus there is now on compliance, processes, and keeping everything well documented. Having worked across different industries, it’s been interesting to see how much more structured facilities management has become and how important good communication is.
What should clients be paying attention to right now?
I think it’s about staying aware of what’s changing in the industry. Building safety is constantly evolving, so keeping up to date and being proactive rather than waiting for something to become urgent is really important.
Can you share an example where early intervention prevented a larger issue?
A lot of early intervention comes from keeping a close eye on workloads. If I notice an assessor may be falling behind, I can help look at solutions early, such as adjusting diaries, reviewing priorities, or discussing extra support. Catching things early helps the team stay on track and ensures we continue to meet client deadlines.
What's your favourite thing about working here?
My favourite thing about working at 4site is definitely the people. I’m lucky to be part of a really supportive team where everyone is always happy to help each other out. No question is ever too much trouble, and there’s a real sense of working together. I also love the variety of the role — no two days are the same, which keeps things interesting.
How has 4site supported your professional development?
I’ve only been at 4site for four months, but I’ve already learnt so much. The support from my team has been brilliant — everyone is approachable and always willing to share their knowledge or answer questions. It’s helped me build my confidence quickly and understand how I can best support the team.
What aspects do you like about the company culture?
What I like about the company culture is that it feels very open and down to earth. Everyone is approachable, and there’s a good balance of professionalism while still being able to have a laugh along the way. I like that ideas and questions are welcomed, and there’s a real sense that everyone plays a part.
What advice would you give someone considering a career at 4site?
I’d say don’t be afraid to take the opportunity. 4site has a great mix of experienced people and different areas to learn from, so there’s always the chance to build your knowledge and develop your skills. If you enjoy being part of a team, getting involved, and working in an environment where your contribution is valued, you’ll really enjoy being part of 4site.

One piece of advice you live by?
“A problem shared is a problem half solved” is something I’ve always believed in. I think talking things through and involving the right people can make such a difference — you’re often closer to a solution than you realise when you don’t try to tackle everything on your own.
