The next important member of our IT department, is Patrick Mracha. Pat is currently a Trainee Software Developer, which means he is studying on the job as part of our tailored training program. We interviewed Pat to find out more about him and his role here at 4site…
Firstly, what does your job as Trainee Software Developer entail?
“My job is to look after various parts of our bespoke IT systems, and focus mainly on the software development side of IT.
Generally, as a team we work on big projects and updates together, but I’m also responsible for maintaining and fixing any urgent issues that may arise.
Also, I’ve been studying various subjects with the support of 4site and my manager, on their tailored training program.”
What does a typical day look like for you and what are you currently working on?
“I take the train to work, and have morning sprint stand up meeting with the team, which is a useful way to manage our projects. I’ll also check that no issues or restarts on the servers occurred overnight.
Then I crack on, working on our tasks. Recently, I’ve been working on Safe4site and updating the contractors view as well as new Client and Contractor Quote Interaction.”
If your colleagues could describe you in three words, what would they be?
“Mr. Cool, Calm & Collected”
What do you like to do in your spare time?
“I enjoy dancing, specifically body popping and break dancing – I’m currently trying to perfect a head-spin! I also tend to find my self-learning a new skill such as being able to speak another language (Spanish). If I’m not doing either of them, then I’m at the gym or at home playing video games.”
What’s a fun fact about you many people may not know?
“I’m really a secret agent working for the American government, I’ve been sent here to spy on you guys and send back any intel I happen to gather… (I’m also funny)”
