Nearly all businesses rely on cars or vans and most organisations will use vehicles in some capacity. Here at 4site, our Assessors rely on them for their daily site visits for risk assessments, surveys and inspections and our office-based staff for client meetings and events.

Whilst it is not always possible to reduce the use of vehicles (if anything, our fleet is only growing!) there are ways in which businesses can reduce their carbon footprint when it comes to the cars and vans they use.

As our business grows, so does our carbon footprint but we have taken a step towards reducing this impact by choosing greener vehicles.

Earlier this month, we added additional Toyota Yaris Hybrids to our fleet and they will lead the way for changing the whole fleet and replacing the existing vehicles with greener alternatives.

The Environment

Since the government has a commitment for “almost every car and van in the UK to be zero emission by 2050” we have decided to get ahead of the game by beginning our transition towards a greener fleet now.

All of the environmental steps that we take as a business, no matter how small they may seem, will have a big effect on the environment. And, by reducing the impact of car fleets on the environment we are making a step towards becoming a much greener, cleaner business.

Safety

As well as being better for the environment, the new vehicles have an abundance of safety features which will of course benefit our team who are using these cars on a very regular basis.

Some of the key safety features include Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian & Cyclist Detection, Lane Departure Alert, Road Sign Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control and Automatic High Beam.

As well as making our business’s driving more environmentally friendly we also want to make sure that everyone is safer on the roads.

These new vehicles are now in use, with more of them to come as we continue to grow our fleet and transition away from diesel, so see if you can spot one on the roads!
