George is another of our Health, Safety and Fire Advisors who travels across the country to carry out risk assessments and other services on behalf of our clients.
Below, George has given us some insight into his role, his career history and what he likes to do in his spare time…
Firstly, what does your job as Health, Safety and Fire Advisor entail?
“As a Health, Safety and Fire Risk Assessor, my job is to
identify Health, safety and fire hazards within the common parts of managed properties and commercial units. I then produce reports raising those hazards and risks for the client and provide advice as and where needed, including liaison with regulatory bodies.”
What were you doing before working at 4site?
“I served in HM Forces (Army) for 24 years serving throughout the globe. My last 5 years was in a role where I developed my understanding of Health and Safety.”
What is your biggest achievement to date – personal or professional?
“My biggest personal achievement is cycling from London to Paris in aid of Combat Stress. My biggest professional achievement is developing as a HSF Advisor.”
What do you like to do in your spare time?
“I am a passionate road cyclist and can be found most weekends sporting the latest tight-fitting cycling apparel along the lanes of Essex and Suffolk.”
What do you enjoy most about your job?
“I enjoy the varied challenges, locations and types of sites I assess as no one site is the same as another. Meeting clients and Property Managers, knowing that the advice I provide ultimately helps making tenants safer in their environments.”
